Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division club Tuffley Rovers have started the 2023/24 competitive season with a new kit design and a new first team sponsor, having agreed a sponsorship deal with the UK’s leading integrated vehicle salvage, dismantling and recycling company, SYNETIQ.

The deal with SYNETIQ is one of several new sponsorship deals secured by Rovers and both parties hope the partnership between them will be as close as their geography, given that Synetiq’s site, off Bristol Road in Gloucester, borders Rovers’ Glevum Park home.

Rovers had been looking for a new main sponsor ahead of the season, at a time where SYNETIQ were looking to enhance their support in the local community and they were introduced to each other by the Councillor for Podsmead, Sebastian Field, whose ward is attached to both.

Councillor Field has become a keen supporter of Rovers’ cause, recognising the benefits of promoting the club’s desire to build stronger links with the local community. Similarly, SYNETIQ, who acquired the Empire Way site in Gloucester in 2019, wanted to provide support in the local community and all parties confirmed that this was a terrific opportunity for all involved.

Rovers’ Chairman, Dan Boon, was quick to express his pleasure in securing a new shirt sponsor.

“We are delighted to have agreed a sponsorship package that should be good for both parties”, he confirmed. “From the moment we started discussions with SYNETIQ the relationship has been really positive and their support will help us in continuing to thrive as a club that wants to succeed, both on and off the field.”

SYNETIQ’s Operations Director for Gloucester, Nick Penton, was equally pleased to continue their role as a company looking to work with the local community.

The Operations Director for SYNETIQ said: “SYNETIQ are dedicated to supporting the communities in which we work and live. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to sponsor one of the largest clubs in Gloucester, and one which has the local community at its heart.”

Chairman and Synetiq Manager

With the deal agreed, Rovers will now wear the SYNETIQ logo on their three shirt designs for the next two seasons and the shirts have already had their first outings, with Rovers already having played three competitive fixtures.

The club will announce several further sponsorship deals over the coming days, having secured support from several new partners for the 2023/24 playing season.

Councillor Field was pleased to have been able to introduce the two parties and hopes this will be part of a long-term relationship that will benefit football in the local community.

He added, “SYNETIQ and Tuffley Rovers are two hugely important community partners in Podsmead. I am delighted to have played a small part in bringing them together in what I’m certain will be a productive partnership.”
