No ‘for sale’ sign needed, as Rovers move to secure stadium naming rights partnership with local agent
The naming rights to Tuffley Rovers’ ground are now off the market as a local estate agent has backed the club with a new sponsorship agreement.
With immediate effect Rovers’ home since the early 1980s will be rebranded as the R B Walters Estate Agents Stadium at Glevum Park in a three-year deal confirmed this week.
Russ and Beth Walters (pictured), who live close to Rovers’ ground, have agreed to back the club in what is a first for the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division club and both parties are delighted to confirm the agreement, which is another major boost after Rovers’ excellent start to the 2026/27 season.
A decade ago Rovers secured their long-term future at the site off Lower Tuffley Lane and in recent years the subject of ground naming rights have become an increasing priority for the club but Secretary Neil Spiller was keen to stress that the deal had to be right for the club if they were to make any change to the name of their traditional home.
“The club had something of a nomadic existence until we found our home at a former gas works site in the early 1980s. We then faced a challenge around 2015 when National Grid were looking to put the site up for sale but managed to secure our long-term future when we purchased the ground in 2016”, Spiller explained.
“When we took up the ground it was quickly named Glevum Park and so there is an attachment that has lasted almost 50 years and changing the name was something that we have been hesitant about, knowing that we needed the right people and the right company to make it feel like a natural transition from one name to another, which Russ and Beth have been really great about, as we’ve retained Glevum Park within the agreed name for the ground going forward”, he confirmed.
On behalf of R B Walters Estate Agents Russ Walters was keen to explain that this was a long-term decision in the making.
“Beth and I opened R B Walters Estate Agents 5 years ago and Tuffley Rovers is our local team. We have been waiting for the right time to get involved with some sponsorship of the club, as we already have a connection to that club, after one of our boys played Under 18s football, our nephew has played for the 1st team for the past three seasons and now another one of our sons has signed for the first team for this season.”

Rovers started the season with two defeats and a draw in their first three games, which included an exit from the Emirates FA Cup at the first hurdle, but have since won three consecutive games and currently sit 2nd in the Premier Division table. They will next visit perennial title challengers Roman Glass St George on Saturday, before hosting their local rivals Longlevens in a first game at the RB Walters Estate Agents Stadium at Glevum Park on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm).
