Weather holds weekend plans in balance

Tuffley Rovers’ Saturday and Sunday squads were all due to be in action this weekend, but the weather could leave the Saturday programme at risk, making January the most inactive month of the season, to date.

The first team are due to host Highmoor Ibis on Saturday, 4 February – a game postponed when it was first due to be played, only two weeks ago – but a pitch inspection is already planned for 10am tomorrow morning, with little chance that the game will go ahead.

Rovers’ Reserves are due to make the journey to Newent Town, in the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League, as they look to follow up on their 4-1 win at home to Bredon last weekend; whilst the Thirds will once again try to secure valuable league points, as they travel to play Sharpness Reserves. The Fourths are also on the road, travelling to Wotton Rovers Reserves, meaning the Fifths are the only team at Beaufort (where another pitch inspection will be required), as they host Uley 3rds, in Stroud League Division 7.

One game is likely to go ahead, as the Veterans take on Ashton Reunited Vets at All Saints Academy, in a 10am kick-off on Sunday morning.
