Super Saturday

Tuffley Rovers recorded an excellent 2-1 victory over Bracknell Town today, thanks to goals from Player/Manager Mark Pritchett and a penalty from top-scorer, Warren Mann, who took his total to¬†eleven for the season. The win moved Rovers up to fifth place in the Uhlsport Hellenic League table, ahead of today’s visitors.

There were two other sides in action and the Fourths advanced to the quarter-finals of the Stroud League Charity Cup, courtesy of a 2-0 win at Rodborough Old Boys. Rovers’ goals came from Chris Giddy and youngster Charlie Sharp.

Unfortunately, the Fifths suffered a rare defeat, exiting the Charity Cup in the process, as they lost 2-1 against Kings Stanley Reserves, who progressed at their expense. Henry Jordan scored Rovers’ solitary goal, taking his total to ten for the season.

Next up for the first team will be the visit of Bodmin Town, in the FA Vase, next Saturday, when all five club sides will be in action.
